Hello Internet!
Melvin here, and this blog is live again. I’ve been training for about 8 years, and I started my own personal training company when I was 22. It was great, taking on the world one client at a time. Over the years I’ve moved states, founded barbell clubs, helped athletes achieve a whole range of things from medaling at a national level weightlifting meet, getting an NFL training camp invite, losing 100 lbs, and even preparing for an Antarctic expedition. I’ve loved every second of helping people.
I’ve also done online training in the past for Olympic Weightlifting and general fitness athletes. In that time I’ve learned that whether you’re working with someone online or in person, the coach-athlete relationship is all about communication: Athletes should feel comfortable giving their coach feedback on the programming, and coaches should feel comfortable communicating the intent of the programming with their athletes. Not everything that a coach asks you to do will always be pleasant. Anyone who has ever had a 10 Rep Max Back Squat programmed for them can tell you this, but coaches should strive to be able to communicate to their athletes how this is going to help and to that end we have a couple of built in feed back systems in our coaching app and our nutrition/stress tracking sheets.
So we’re happy to be live and providing the best coaching services to people from all backgrounds at an affordable rate. Schedule an assessment to find out how we can help you!
